What began more than 100 years ago with a repair shop for bicycles has now become a diversified group consisting of eight independent companies. The foundations for today’s business were laid in 1966 with the formation of hostettler ag. A decisive step in the group’s development was then taken in 1968, when hostettler was appointed general importer of Yamaha motorcycles for Switzerland. hostettler autotechnik ag was launched in 1972, followed by intercycle and the iXS MOTORCYCLE FASHION brand of motorcycle apparel in 1979 and hostettler motoren ag in 1987. The youngest additions to the hostettler group are the company cosmosport, which was founded in 1998, and the brands iXS SPORTS DIVISION as well as iXS TECHNICAL DIVISION, which were established in 2001 and in 2008.

All the group‘s voting shares are still held by the family holding. This is designed to secure the life work of the company founders in the long term while preserving the moral and material interests of the Hostettler family.

In a highly successful move some 30 years ago, hostettler expanded into the international market, a dynamic development that is set to continue in the future – «hostettler keeps the wheels turning».
